One of the best things about schooling downtown is that there is so much diversity around us. One example of this is the huge selection of international food brought practically to our doorstep on campus. For instance, one of the best Italian places I’ve ever been to is just a seven minute walk away.

Dal Moro’s Fresh Pasta To Go is a trendy and current pasta spot located at Yonge St. and Wellesley St. (near Wellesley Station). Although pasta is the only type of food on the menu, they serve almost every kind of pasta you can think of, with a wide variety of pasta shapes, sauces, and additional toppings. Although served in their classic Chinese food-style take out containers, the recipe and taste are as authentically Italian as it gets. Dal Moro’s menu does include vegetarian and vegan options, clearly marked on the menu. They also have a small dessert selection.

A casual, smaller, yet modern dining area, Dal Moro’s is a great space to get a quick bite with friends after class, a fun casual date spot, or a great stop for some late night pasta (they stay open until 11pm!). A hidden gem just outside the campus community, Dal Moro’s is usually lively, but rarely packed, with sit-down table space usually available. The restaurant does market themselves as a “to-go” pasta spot, so most customers only stay for around an hour, or take their pasta to-go! The best part: everything on the menu is 12 dollars or under. And if you can show your OneCard, you get a student discount of 15% off! This makes it a great, wallet-friendly lunch or dinner. With a bottle of water and my pasta order, my order total was around $15.80 tax included.

For a casual takeout style restaurant Dal Moro’s pasta is pretty amazing. On my visit I chose the “Fruitti Di Mare” pasta, which is a variety of seafood mixed with your choice of pasta (I chose linguini), dripping in a fresh tomato sauce. It’s pictured here with my friends’ order of “Mama Rosa” pasta, (Dal Moro’s fusili pasta with a rose sauce). Staff are friendly and helpful, and pasta is served 10-15 minutes after your order is placed. Dal Moro’s also offers food service on a variety of take-out apps such as Uber Eats, Ritual, and Feedback. Our go-to spot on Wednesday’s after class, Dal Moro’s never disappoints us, with fresh, made-to-order pasta, brilliant flavours, and a great environment.

I would rate my overall experience at Dal Moro’s Fresh Pasta To Go 5/5, and would recommend it to anyone looking to try something new around the Ryerson Campus.
